Super Junior's Shindong Explains the End of Engagement: Inside the Story

Super Junior’s Shindong,  the famed South Korean singer, recently cleared the air regarding the failure of his past engagement. During an appearance on JTBC’s Travelling Market, the Super Junior member elaborated on his personal life, leaving fans surprised by his revelations.

For a long time, many people believed that Super Junior Shindong was married, with some even suspecting that he had a child. However, Shindong clarified the situation, admitting that he was once on the brink of matrimony but it fell through.

The artist disclosed his intentions to marry his then-girlfriend, announcing their families were going to have a Sangkyunrae – a formal meeting before marriage. Yet, the families only exchanged casual greetings, a stark contrast to what the term actually implies.

According to Shindong, his immaturity and misunderstanding of the word “Sangkyunrae” led to complications. The Super Junior member and his former girlfriend eventually broke up due to the public announcement and the unwanted attention that followed. His openness about the Sangkyunrae on television made their families uncomfortable, leading to the breakup.
