NOC’s Ryan Tan speaks out against Sylvia Chan, says that “many lies were peddled during the interview”

Singapore – In a 10-page statement peppered with screenshots and WhatsApp exchanges, Ryan Tan, co-founder of Night Owl Cinematics (NOC) sought to absolve himself of all accusations made against him in the social media slugfest involving his ex-wife and co-owner of NOC, Sylvia Chan.

He starts off by denying involvement in any way with @sgcickenrice or endthesilencee.blogspot.com.  He says: “Throughout, I have refused to disclose any personal communications; particularly, those that I had exchanged with Sylvia. But I am heartbroken that I have not been extended the same courtesy”.

After two years, Chen Hanwei reunites with mother

Singapore — The pandemic has been highly effective in messing up international travel and because of that, family life, keeping many families split.

Veteran actor Chen Hanwei told Shin Min Daily News a year ago, that it had been some times since he had last seen his mother, who lives in Johor Bahru.

He had thought of visiting her back then under the Reciprocal Green Lane and Periodic Commuting Arrangement. But decided against it because he didn’t have enough time to serve the mandatory quarantine on both sides of the Causeway.

Getai artist Wang Lei gets backlash for spot at Singapore Writers Festival, but fans cheer him on

Singapore — Wang Lei may not be everyone’s cup of tea, judging from reactions from some quarters when it was announced that the getai singer turned online fish seller would be included in this year’s lineup of speakers at the Singapore Writers Festival (SWF).

Some, it seems, took exception to Mr Wang, who is also known as ‘Mai Yu Ge’ (‘Fish Selling Bro’) for his often expletive-laced manner of speaking, and felt that it was inappropriate for SWF, to be held this year from Nov 5 to 14, in online and in-person venues.

Singapore –  Playwright Alfian Sa’at has weighed in on the tawdry tragicomedy starring the co-owners, staff and former staff of Night Owl Cinematics (NOC).

On its website, NOC describes itself as “an agency dealing with  YouTube, Facebook and Instagram advertising through comedy video production”.
