Breaking: Cop seen apparently firing a shot at aggressive man wielding a knife
Update: The Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirms the man was shot.
Their full statement: “KNIFE-WIELDING MAN SHOT BY POLICE OFFICER
The Police have arrested a 49-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
On 17 February 2022 at about 8.40pm, the Police were alerted to a case where a 41-year-old man was purportedly assaulted by a 49-year-old man with a knife along Block 420A Clementi Avenue 1.

Security officer at mall hurt trying to stop BMW driver cutting across traffic lanes

Singapore — A senior security officer who tried to stop a BMW cutting into a taxi lane at a mall was assaulted by the driver., and ended up with a fractured palm and and an injured back.
The Union of Security Employees (USE) said in a Feb 16 Facebook post that the guard made a police report, according to TODAY, which said the assault happened on Nov 6, 2021.

Economist: Strong demand for workers in Singapore may mean higher pay, greater benefits
Singapore — Data from a global jobs portal is showing that employment opportunities for workers in Singapore have increased despite the pandemic.
Indeed, a US-based worldwide website for employment listings said in a recent release that local job postings have gone higher than pre-COVID levels since October 2020. The company also said that after economic restrictions in the middle of last year, postings have regained momentum.
