‘Just don’t stay in this hotel. Don’t book it.’ — TikTok about ‘worst’ hotel in Orchard goes viral

One woman recently warned travellers not to stay in the hotel she booked on Orchard Road after a pretty bad experience with both the staff and facilities.

“Just don’t stay in this hotel. Don’t book it,” said a TikToker who goes by rachhhhhhhel (@ar.shit.ek) on the platform.

A man who started doing business with a rather problematic partner found that he was pushed into keeping promises he did not make.

The man wrote in a Facebook post that he met a girl who asked him to start a business with her. She sounded hardworking and wanted to learn the trade. Though she asked him for a salary of S$3,000, he wrote that he was not prepared to pay her that amount just to think of ideas for six to 12 months.

Study shows Singapore consumers can’t discern how to recycle packaging properly, many find too much packaging for most products

A recent study by the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) showed that Singaporeans consider many products to have too much packaging and are willing to purchase those with more sustainable packaging.

On Aug 2, SEC launched the “Unlocking Opportunities for Sustainable Packaging in Singapore” report, which aims to uncover insights to understand better the current consumer attitudes around packaging and packaging waste.

Dear Editor,

I read with concern the report, “Road rage ‘a real and big issue’ in Singapore, as drivers bemoan sense of entitlement on roads” (TODAY, July 16).

As we all know, Singapore is a well-known cosmopolitan city and its people are living in a hustle and bustle lifestyle, and most motorists feel abominable to adapt to its daily heavy traffic flow.

Maid asks if it’s difficult working in 2-storey landed property with 5 adults and 1 dog

 

A domestic helper set to work in a landed property asked other helpers for advice on what it would be like there.

In an anonymous post to Facebook group FDW in Singapore (working conditions forum), the helper asked other domestic helpers what it would be like to work for a family that lived in a 2-storey landed property. She added that she would have to work for five adults and one dog.
