SINGAPORE: In an Instagram post, Sonia Chew shared her recent travel horror story as someone tried to break into her luggage when she was traveling back to Singapore from the United States. She admitted that despite all the happy and fun photos that she had been posting online, these do not really tell the whole experience of the unfortunate travel encounter.

“What you see on social media is only half of the real story… take these pics for example from my recent travel horror story 💀”, she admitted.

Sonia then shared: “When I arrived in SG, I was shocked to see several clean cuts on my very secure checked baggage (thank goodness), but as a result, it remained clamped shut, and I had to make arrangements to pry it open and get a replacement! Thankfully, no valuables were taken…”

She added that as a woman who travels a lot, it is really better to be safe than sorry.

Netizens expressed their opinions in the comments section.

One IG user commented: “Wow didn’t expect that! I was loving your U.S.A. content last year!”

Another IG user declared: “Safe travel 😍😍”, and “ Stay safe beautiful ❤”.

In similar travel news, Sonia Chew recently went back from Taiwan for a film work.

“Thank you for the memories Taiwan, I’ll definitely be back soon!” she said in her post caption.
