Just the day before New Year, Floyd Mayweather went home with a whopping $9 million USD after a two-minute demolition job against Tenshin Nasukawa and also, a double jab straight Twitter post punch from one of his greatest opponents, Manny Pacquiao.

The “retired” 41-year-old boxer Mayweather, who boasts a 50-0 professional boxing record, dropped the 20-year-old kickboxer and MMA fighter Tenshin three times before a TKO in the main event of Rizin 14 at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

Mayweather is more than 20 years older than Tenshin. He also outweighs the latter by about 20 pounds. He is a professional boxer while Tenshin is a kickboxer.

The eight-division boxing world champion and 40-year-old Filipino sports icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao caught the attention of many boxing enthusiasts and fans alike how he mocked Floyd “Money” Mayweather on this fight in the guise of a New Year’s Resolution. His post was:

It was in May 2015 when Mayweather beat Pacquiao in a unanimous decision held in MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas. Their first match billed as The Fight of the Century, generated the largest gate in boxing history, $72.2 million USD and earned the largest ever PPV audience, 4.6 million USD.

During their encounter at Ultra Japan in Tokyo months ago, there were talks about a rematch happening very soon. Both had their own posts announcing somehow to the world. Mayweather described the would-be rematch as “another 9 figure payday on the way” and that he was going to “take [the belt] from you like I did before” while Pacquiao posted his own video with a comment “50-1 #NoExcuses”.

Pacquiao is currently training for his first title defense of the WBA (Regular) Welterweight World Champion against American boxer Adrien Broner happening on January 19th in Las Vegas.

To some, the fight was the biggest scam in sports history, a mismatch from the very start. Expecting the fight to finish in three rounds was a “joke” to many.

The fans of both Mayweather and Pacquiao were hyped about this, as they brought their brawls against each other on social media.
