Facebook user Vionna Lee as urged the Singapore Police Force (SPF) to immediately look into a case, where a man chased a woman in broad daylight in Clarke Quay while stroking his genitals with his pants off, after the victim exposed the matter on social media.
The victim shared on Facebook that she was on her way to the Liang Court when the man suddenly appeared and tried to grab her. The victim, immediately shouted “NO” and shook the man off before realising that the man was now following her, while stroking his genitals.
The woman took a video of the pervert and asked him to go away but the man began chasing after her. Taking his pants off altogether, the man tried to block the victim’s way and flashed her. He continues to make advances, despite the victim’s screams.
The victim, who said that she “honestly thought he was going to lay his hands” on her, eventually managed to run away.
With screenshots of the victim, Instagram user @jewelkqw’s story in which she detailed the sexual harrassment, Ms Lee asked the authorities to take firm action against the culprit, whom she considers a danger to other girls.
Revealing that the victim has lodged a police complaint, Ms Lee wrote: “Given the brazenness of this act that firstly, happened in broad daylight, secondly, involved a man physically and forcefully grabbing an unsuspecting victim, thirdly, depicts a criminal who shows no trace of remorse or shame as he is being filmed, it’s clear that this man is a menace to our society.
“The user also pointed out that others have also helped identify the identity of the flasher, suggesting this was not a one-off case.
“Considering all factors in this crime I hope this case receives your immediate attention and follow-up.”
