Videos of Azmin Ali’s Minister of Economic Affairs circulating in Malaysia but dismissed as a sham by the minister and fakes by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has changed the leadership game in the Pakatan Harapan coalition.

This is so if we believe a report in The Star daily which says there was a leadership tussle between PM to be Anwar Ibrahim and his number 2 in the Parti Keadilan Rakyat, Azmin.

The Star newspaper published a long commentary highlighting a running dispute in Anwar Ibrahim’s Parti Keadilan Rakyat. But the paper said plans to push Dr Mahathir to give a date for his departure has been made easier.

The article said people commented that the road is now clear for Anwar with Azmin facing a sex video scandal.

It all depends on how Azmin will defend himself with a lot of pressure on him and more videos that could appear soon.

The Star commentary says Pakatan Harapan leaders wanted Mahathir to fix a date for his departure after the Ramadan, in the month of Syawal. Syawal is the Raya month that falls just after Ramadan.

The paper mentioned sources that said coalition leaders wanted the Prime Minister to announce his definite departure in the month of August.

The plan was for Anwar to join the Cabinet after Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Anwar’s wife and first female deputy PM Malaysia resigns. But it said Dr Mahathir would be allowed to rule until the middle or end of the year 2020.

The question is whether the alleged gay sex by Azmin removed the rival candidate from the prime minister challenge?

Rumours circulated that Dr Mahathir wanted to put Azmin in a bigger role in the cabinet.

Some people said maybe Azmin was ready to replace Lim Guan Eng from the Democratic Action Party as the Minister of Finance.

Both men had serious differences on the East Coast Railway Link before Dr Mahathir sealed the deal. Azmin may have come out a winner then, but the tapes has killed his hopes.

Some even said Azmin did not specifically deny that he was not the person in the video but said it was a conspiracy to attack his personality and ruin his political career.

There is no comment from Azmin on the second video release. The Video has a lighter lightning showing clearer facial features of both men possibly because the authors decided to edit the clips to brighten it.
