Minister Tan Chuan-Jin joins Canon Canada in trolling Nikon Singapore

One viral story in the past weekend was of Nikon Singapore selecting a clearly Photoshopped image as the winner of its contest. When people took notice of the winning entry and criticised it, both Nikon and the winning photographer apologised for what happened.
SCDF on Monday trolled Nikon’s misfortune, and a day later it was Canon Canada.
The other camera company posted this photo on its Facebook and captioned it, “Up in the air! This week, share your best airplane photos with us. Extra points for creative use of photo editing software to put planes in surprising places.”
canonOne of the participants in Canon Canada’s contest is Minister for Social and Family Development, Tan Chuan-Jin.
The Minister was clearly trolling Nikon. He captioned his picture, “I chanced upon this while hanging around above Marina Bay, and thought that the view would make an interesting perspective. FWAA! Little did I expect an Apache to come flying by in mid-air!”
canonTCJThe Minister linked the same picture on his own Facebook with a cheeky message:
I chanced upon this while hanging around above Marina Bay, and thought that the view would make an interesting perspective. FWAA! Little did I expect an Apache to come flying by in mid-air!
This is worth several trolley bags I think. Can I trade it for a Nikon D5?
‪#‎Photobomb‬ (more like photoHellfire!) ‪#‎Nikon‬ (I do love my Nikons though) ‪#‎NotPhotoshop‬ or ‪#‎Photoshop‬ #? ‪#‎surewintrolleybagone‬ ‪#‎winliaolor‬ #‎justforfunpleasecontinuetoservicemycameraok‬?
(Taken through the rear ramp opening of a Chinook. We were carrying out a recce of the flight display during NDP 2009)”
When someone asked him how he got that shot Mr Tan replied, “the Apache was flying around and I figured it would be a matter of time when it would appear through the rear ramp opening of the Chinook. And it did. Managed to rattle of 3 shots. I think this seemed to be the better one amongst the 3.”
The Minister made two submissions to Canon Canada’s contest both using the same picture, the other with his personal Facebook account and with a different caption, “I was looking out and an Apache flew by. Really. And it was a Nikon. Just sayin…”
The Minister must really need a new camera.
Canon Canada, have you heard the man?
