Manchester United star Pogba introduced to Islam by his mother

It may have surprised many to see pictures of Paul Pogba at the Muslim holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia at the start of this month of Ramadan, but he has been a devout Muslim for years.

He followed Islam after being introduced to the faith by his mother Yeo Moriba, whom he said was his inspiration.

He and his twin brothers were brought up alone by her in an estate near Paris.

Drugs were rife near their home in Roissy-en-Brie, but she kept them clean.

Manchester United’s £100million record signing Paul Pogba is close to his mother Yeo Moriba, who has overseen his meteoric rise to become the world’s most expensive footballer, wrote Quora.

Before his big-money move was announced, the star posted a moving Instagram tribute to his devout Muslim ‘supermum’ who has had more influence on him than anyone else.

Just a few days ago, Pogba was celebrating like crazy after he scored in the Europa League final against Ajax.

Pictures have appeared on social media on Saturday of the world’s most expensive footballer, Man United midfielder Paul Pogba, in Mecca.

They were first published by the Daily Mail in the UK.

The Manchester United star is embarking on holy month as part of his Muslim beliefs.

Pogba travelled to Saudi Arabia to pay thanks after the first season at United.

24-year-old is a practising Muslim and spent Saturday in simple white garments.
