Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson from One Direction disliked each other

Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson from One Direction who’s said to be close now revealed that initially, they hated each other.

At the beginning of their One Direction’s career, it appeared Harry Styles, Niall Horan, ZAYN, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne were great friends.

Put together by Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger on the X Factor in 2010, it looked like they immediately bonded and formed valuable friendships.

Since ZAYN left the band in 2015, cracks appeared, showing that not all of them in band got along.

Liam revealed that he and Louis had a terrible feud when the band was first formed.

Liam and Louis are the best of buds these days but back when One Direction were still contestants on The X Factor, things were not quite so harmonious.

Liam explained, “When we were in the band, it kind of felt like, because he was the oldest and because I’d been singing for quite a bit of time, we both got put in a weird position.”

Further discussing their dynamic, Liam said: “He wanted to be the leader, and I was doing my thing and wanted to. So at first, we didn’t get on at all. We absolutely hated each other, it was so funny. Really bad. We hid it well.” Thankfully, that isn’t the case anymore. Liam went on to say that they still “speak a lot” today: “If he has a problem, he’ll call me.”

Liam also praised Louis’ music: “He sent me his new single, and I had a listen and it’s really good, actually.”

Recently, Liam revealed that he struggled at times in One Direction.

“We had an absolute blast but there were certain parts of it where it just got a little bit toxic, it’s difficult when you have the level of fame that we had in the band.”

He also said that, as a coping mechanism, he was “pissed a lot of the time” that he was in the band.

Thankfully, it seems as though Liam is in a much better headspace now. We wish him and the 1D boys all the best.
