SINGAPORE: Top Korean stars arrived on a bus on Aug 26 to catch the UFC fight at Singapore Indoor Stadium. A TikTok video showed them stepping off the bus, and it got over 700,000 views in one night. People wished they were there, too.
Among them were music producer Code Kunst, rapper Jay Park, Kim Jong Kook from “Running Man,” and Yugyeom of GOT7, there to support Korean fighter Jung Chan Sung, also known as “The Korean Zombie.”

But Jung got knocked out in 23 seconds in the third round.
Jung, with 17 wins and eight losses, decided to quit after the fight. He wanted to be a champion but felt it was time to stop. Jung announced his retirement after the fight, saying, “I’m going to step away from fighting.”
The winner, Max Holloway, dedicated his win to Hawaii and praised Jung, calling him a legend.
“This man’s a f***ing legend. He’s Korean Zombie for a reason. The man is a myth, a legend. I’m just lucky my right hand landed before his.”
Holloway has won 20 times in UFC’s featherweight division. Jung became known in 2010 for a great fight. He fought twice for the UFC championship, in 2013 and 2022.
Jung had a break from fighting due to his country’s needs. He lost four years to South Korea’s military service from 2013 to 2017.
Holloway won 18 out of 21 recent fights. He lost only to Alexander Volkanovski, the top fighter.
So, this event created quite a buzz, with well-known Koreans on a Singapore bus and an unforeseen result in the fight.
