Jamus Lim Expresses Gratitude for Community Support, Calls Voters His ‘Bosses’J

Over the weekend, one of the social media posts of Workers’ Party MP Jamus Lim (Sengkang GRC) went viral, getting thousands of likes on both Facebook and Instagram.

He posted a photo of a dessert he had been given after having lunch earlier in the week. And since the dessert plate had the words “Thanks for making Sengkang great!” written on it in chocolate icing, Assoc Prof Lim guessed that it had come from a Sengkang resident.

“I had a lunch meeting earlier this week, and for dessert, the kitchen sent over a lovely message along with a delicious dessert (my wife and daughter, we have an unenviable weakness for chocolate),” he wrote in a Nov 13 (Sunday) post.

He added that he is “always very grateful of such little notes of appreciation, since that’s one of the few rewards for being in public service.”

However, the WP MP appears to not take such displays of gratefulness for granted and made a point that his work as a Member of Parliament is all about public service after all.

“But at the same time, I am also very mindful that we serve at the behest of our voters. This makes them our bosses, a fact that I occasionally joke about with my residents, but one that I actually truly believe, and try my best to reflect in what #TeamSengkang does,” he added.

This was praised by commenters on his post.
