Online marketplace platform for laundry shops GetLaundry has launched its new business management solution for laundry owners, to complement its existing marketplace service.

The platform includes point-of-sale (POS) system and built-in customer relations management (CRM) functionality that aims to help laundry shop owners engage and manage their customers and businesses.

It can also help laundry owners to secure B2B clients by enabling them to submit proposals on the
Getlaundry system, connecting laundry shops to business establishments looking for cost effective bids.

In a press statement, GetLaundry stated that more development is still underway and a range of features are expected to be integrated into the system.

Those features will include inventory and capacity management, accounting system, as well as HR and loyalty management.

GetLaundry started out in 2015 in the United Arab Emirates as an on-demand laundry platform.

The startup later pivoted into the marketplace model; founder Jon Santillan cited key learnings from customers and laundry partners as the trigger to the pivot.

”When we started our on-demand laundry service back in 2015, we learned a lot from our customers and
laundry partners alike,” said Santillan.

“Customers can be extremely selective with choosing vendors to partner with and laundry partners are faced with dilemmas on customer and order management, limited resources and logistics. We’ve incorporated their feedback into this expanded marketplace offering to accommodate needs from both sides for effective service, vendor transparency, full utilisation of our partners’ capacities, and efficient partner
processes,” he continued.

GetLaundry claimed to have served over 9,000 customers with over 200 laundry service providers on its platform, including two large-scale laundry chains Aqua Dry Clean in Abu Dhabi and Butlers Laundry in Dubai.

The startup already has presence in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and is currently working to get more laundry shops on-board its platform, particularly the bigger players.

GetLaundry has secured its first round of investment from Mountain Partners in April 2016.
