After a round of food distribution to residents at Marine Parade, former Workers’ Party (WP) Non-constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) Yee Jenn Jong received high praise from a resident, leading to comparisons between the Workers’ Party and the People’s Action Party (PAP).

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, October 10, ex-NCMP Yee wrote, “We received a nice thank you message from a resident after our weekend food distribution. Glad to be able to provide some help”.

“Appreciations have come in many forms so far, from such messages via text and emails, cold drinks when we visit, and even hugs from kids. In turn, we thank the food and money donors and helpers for making the regular distributions happen”, he continued.

A resident and benefactor of the food distribution wrote in to thank them and said, “Thank you for the visiting. And this is the 3rd time you visit my house and I appreciated the time you took from your rest day/suppose to be time spent with your family. Thank you for lending ear about my concern”.

As a concluding note, the resident added, “I hope WP will win the next GE in Marine Parade GRC and you have my support”.

Ex-NCMP Yee’s post received almost 200 reactions, and comments such as “Men in white should learn from our opposition. Start helping Singaporeans! Don’t just talk only no action”.

It seems like small actions go a long way with the people.
