Daughter says she wants a cat, so dad acts like one to show her what it’s like to raise a cat

CHINA: When a young girl in China asked her parents for a pet, she probably didn’t expect her father to start acting like one.

And while the video of the daughter’s reaction shows that she wasn’t too pleased, her father’s antics have gone viral, getting over 1.8 million views on TikTok.

The video, first shared on Weibo before it made its way to Douyin and TikTok, originated in Jinan, China, where it was filmed on Aug. 21.

It shows a girl, who appears to be around nine or 10 years old, standing in front of a kitchen counter while her dad is on all fours on top of the crowded counter.

Looking at her straight in the eye, he swipes a bowl with utensils off of the counter, and they fall with a clatter on the floor.

With the same “paw,” he plays with water running from the tap, splashing his daughter, with whom he still has eye contact.

In the next frame, the daughter has her back against the side of the sofa, and her father is on the sofa, again on all fours.

He arches his back and meows loudly, swiping at his daughter with his “paw.”

The daughter then looks away with a slightly exasperated look on her face.

The video says that the dad was said to show the girl what it’s like to raise a cat.

Aside from the high number of views, many netizens all over the world have commented on the video.

“I admire his commitment to the bit. I couldn’t do that with a straight face.😂,” wrote one TikTok user.

“The girl’s face,” commented another.

Others just left a whole bunch of laughing emojis.
