“I really don’t understand,” wrote a concerned member of the public, on why men preferred to use a wall along Toh Guan Road to urinate on instead of using an actual washroom at the nearby coffeeshop.

Complaint Singapore Facebook page member Pauline Weewee posted a video on Wednesday (June 22) of several men urinating in public.

“There is a coffeeshop nearby, but they don’t like to urinate there. Every weekend will visit this piece of wall at Toh Guan Road East Enterprise Hub!” she added.

In the three-minute video, Ms Weewee shared, at least four men were spotted urinating on the wall on separate occasions.

Netizens commented on the video, noting the individuals were behaving like dogs, while others said they were worse.

“Aiya, this is called territory marking lah!” said Facebook user Nana Eonni. “Just like dog, smelled it spot and will begin to pee at the same spot,” added another netizen.

Meanwhile, one Tina Seah said this behavior was worse than of a dog. “Dogs (are) more disciplined…must engage a good trainer for these human creatures disgracing Singapore,” she said, urging the original poster to submit the video evidence to the authorities put the men to task.

“I hope some form of training is necessary to inculcate the right behaviour and values when in Singapore before hiring them,” said Facebook user EP Tan on the same note.

According to the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) Regulations, no person shall urinate or defecate in or upon any street, arcade, vacant land, river, canal, ditch, drain or watercourse or in any place to which the public has access except in any sanitary convenience provided for such purpose.

Those who violate these regulations can be fined up to S$1,000 for the first offence, S$2,000 for the second offence and up to S$5,000 for subsequent incidents. /TISG
