We know the many tactics of bandits riding motorbikes and smashing car windows to steal valuables, but this time they targeted a Bugatti. Sometimes, these bandits go even further, attacking while occupants are still in the vehicle.

However, for it to happen in the middle of a busy road in London is something else. And on top of that, the armed thieves, riding mopeds, attacked a millionaire’s Bugatti supercar in a broad daylight in an attempt to steal the owner’s £110,000 Rolex watch.

The man, Abdullah F. Al Basman was ambushed by hammer-wielding moped riders and this happened while he was driving through traffic in his £3 million sports car.

Hammering for a Rolex

The attackers, two of them with their faces hidden in their helmets, smashed the window of the Bugatti but failed to retrieve the targeted object, the Rolex watch.

The car owner was staying at a hotel and when he left the hotel in his car, witnesses say the muggers followed the car before carrying out the attack. The hammer did not break the car window completely, it appears.

The attackers were earlier asked to leave the hotel pavement where they were parked in the morning before the attack.

Hotel staff told them they could not hang around in the area. It is when the driver left in the Bugatti that they started following him all the way to Hyde Park Corner, says a witness.

“One beeped their horn which I assume was the signal to start attacking,” he said.

The driver is a Kuwaiti playboy, says the UK papers, who flaunts his supercars and expensive watches on social media.
