Ahn Jae-hyun, a South Korean actor who just recently went through a divorce has decided to withdraw from the television series ‘Journey to the West 7’.

Ever since his ‘good man’ image was affected and also his public ongoing marital problems with actress Goo Hye-sun, Ahn wanted to avoid the series from being affected by his personal problems, Sin Chew Daily reported.

There were mixed reactions from his fans, with some expressing their disappointment over the actor’s decision.

“Settle your family problems first then make a comeback,” quipped a fan.

Some, however, expressed joy, saying, “Finally I need not see the fake man’s face!”

The actress had previously posted, and subsequently deleted two Instagram posts with images of screenshots of her conversation with Ahn, where her husband had asked for a divorce.

More recently, Goo’s latest post accused Ahn of having an affair with co-star Oh Yeon-seo.

South Korean celebrity couple Ahn Jae-hyun and Goo Hye-sun split recently after an intense and heated exchange of words between the two that went on for weeks.

Following that, there was a deafening silence from both the screen stars over the last few days which may have left fans wondering what happened.

The reason is a supposed ‘gag order’ that was put in place following the intervention of their respective lawyers and friends.

Allkpop, a Korean pop culture website quoted an insider saying that the couple “do not want to be talked about anymore”.

The couple met on the set of the 2015 TV series Blood, with their romance being one of the most talked-about news at that time before they exchanged vows the following year.

The media tried to contact the couple’s lawyers to reveal details of the couple’s divorce process but there was no response.

“We cannot make any comments on this matter. We are sorry,” was the only statement issued.
