Singapore – AW Lab at Wisma Atria dropped a new version of Adidas’ latest design and shoppers went crazy.

On June 22, Reddit user u/LeWilmon posted a video of a scene that looked like a horde of zombies were swarming into the shop as shoppers scrambled through shutter doors at 6am trying to get their hands on shoes – the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Synth to be exact.

A few days before the drop, AW LAB posted the following on their Facebook page informing the public about the sale.

The event was set for June 22 at 10 am and was on a first come first serve basis. Each person was allotted only one pair of shoes while stocks lasted.

On the day of the event, someone from the crowd took a video of the frenzy that occurred.

People were seen crawling under the shutter which was only about a foot off the floor.

A woman was heard shouting, “Don’t push!”

Shouts could be heard from the crowd as more space became available for people to pass through. Those who made it to the other side were already running for the store.

A man could be heard saying, “Oh my God!” while another woman repeatedly screamed, “Ow!”

Redditors were entertained by the incident and compared it to a zombie horde from the video game Left 4 Dead 2.

Many also commented that Carousel is now filled with Yeezys being sold at double the price.

The release price for these shoes was at S$350 a pair while the new postings at Carousel are priced at S$600 to S$700.

Coming back to the Synth release at AW Lab, it would seem that despite all the crawling and jostling not everyone got to purchase a pair of Synth shoes that day.

A certain Kristogger Morningstar commented that he got a number but not the shoes, even though he was reassured by management that they had enough stock.

Perhaps next time, frenzy notwithstanding.
