Dr Lee Wei Ling, the second child of Lee Kuan Yew has alleged in her Facebook that her older brother was being “mischievous and dishonest to selectively use quotes” from her and out of context to suggest that her younger brother and his wife were trying to cheat her out of their father’s final will.

“In fact, Lee Kuan Yew’s final will was very important to me as it gave me a clear right to live in the original house at 38 Oxley Road which I very much wanted,” she said.

She claimed that she had repeatedly made clear to her elder brother and his wife that there was no duplicity by her younger brother and his wife.

Dr Lee chided her elder brother, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, for continuing to repeat a position that she had both clarified and discredited as a smokescreen. She said the smokescreen was meant to obscure a key point – that Lee Kuan Yew’s his final will of 17 December 2013 is in the same terms as his will of 19 August 2011. The final will included the demolition clause.

“Exactly as our father had intended,” she emphasised.

Dr Lee claimed that after Mr Lee made the will on 19 Aug 2011, her elder brother and his wife, Ho Ching, became unhappy that it gave her the right to live in the house, and pushed her father on the matter.

“This eventually resulted in 2012 in my losing my right to stay in the house and my share of my father’s estate being reduced to only a life interest,” she added.

Dr Lee said that she was very upset when she found out about it, and quarrelled with her father. She credited the wife of her younger brother for interceding with her father on the matter.

“It was in fact my sister-in-law, Suet Fern, who interceded with my father (when Ho Ching and Hsien Loong were overseas) on my behalf. She met with Lee Kuan Yew and made a case that since I was his only daughter and was unmarried, it was particularly important that he provide for me rather than reduce my interest in his estate. My father did reinstate me and gave me an extra 1/7 share as a result. Hsien Yang and his wife were never informed of this extra share and continued to worry that I should be fairly treated and have a right to live in the house.” – Dr Lee Wei Ling

Dr Lee said that she was concerned about her right to continue to live at 38 Oxley Road and that her father’s will of 17 December 2013 gave her that right.
