Kimly’s subsidiary Kedai Kopi to acquire 12 Haig Road coffee shop for S$11.8M

SINGAPORE: Kimly Limited’s subsidiary Kedai Kopi has agreed to acquire all shares in GSPL, the private company that owns the coffee shop at 12 Haig Road, for S$11.8 million, as reported by The Edge Singapore.

Kedai Kopi, which is 51% owned by Kimly’s wholly owned subsidiary Kimly Makan Place, signed the share purchase agreement with GSPL’s owners, Tan Hock Choon and Tan Kah Huat.

The property is a two-storey HDB shophouse with a remaining lease of 82 years. Kedai Kopi has been operating the coffee shop since April 1, 2021, and Kimly said the acquisition will secure ownership and ensure continuity of operations.

A deposit of S$0.59 million, equivalent to 5% of the purchase price, was paid when the agreement was signed. The remaining amount will be paid upon completion.

The coffee shop’s book value stands at S$12.16 million. Funding for the purchase will come from S$5.8 million in external financing, S$2.55 million and S$2.45 million of shareholders’ loans, and S$1.36 million from Kedai Kopi’s internal resources. /TISG
