Fire breaks out at building near IMM – 50 people evacuated, one sustained burn injuries

50 people were evacuated after a fire broke out at a building opposite IMM in Toh Guan Road. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that a woman in her 50s was conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital for burn injuries.

SCDF said that the fire started at 7.40am at the Cambridge Industrial Trust building, an 8-level warehouse building with office accommodation and an annexed 2-level conventional warehouse. The fire involved contents of the warehouse and is now under control.

SCDF said that the fire was confined to the external facade of the building, and was extinguished by firefighters within 40 minutes. A total of 2 fire engines, 2 Red Rhinos, 2 fire bikes, 5 support vehicles and 2 ambulances were deployed to the incident.

Videos sent in by several netizens showed the fire raging at the building.
