TISG: There’s a new change

Dear Readers,

Much thanks! We owe you a big “pat on the back!”

We’ve grown from strength to strength the last 12 months and at our peak we had 1.1million viewers and 2.5million views in a month. That’s quite a starter for a new website that wants to reach out to Singaporeans, especially the younger generation.

Much of this good work must be credited to the tireless efforts of our editor Mr Ravi Philemon, who literally burned the midnight oil to get it going.

Now it’s time for a change. We have reached a new checkpoint and we’re looking at how we can expand our editorials to cover a wider segment of society.

Change is never an easy assignment. But we believe change is inevitable in moving forward, positively and pragmatically, to what you, the readers, want.

I have asked founding editor Mr P N Balji to step in and to review the contents in the website.

More change in thoughts: We will also be approaching the iMDA to discuss various options regarding the running of this website.

Change also means we need your views on how better we can improve and to make a serious contribution to society.

Please tell us how THE INDEPENDENT can be responsible, intelligent and robust (the three fundamental values we started the website).

We’ll recommence our operations shortly. We know we can change and move forward with your support.
