Sheila Sim, a well-known Singaporean actress, model, and advocate of positive psychology, posted on her Instagram account (@sheila_sim) an invitation to her talk at the Mental Health Festival Asia 2022 this Friday, Sept 30, 2022.

With her talk sharing entitled “Overcoming the Hard Truths of Motherhood with Conscious Parenting”, she invites all mothers to join her as they all together venture on understanding and embracing the ups and downs of their journey toward motherhood.

Motherhood can be so testing and triggering in so many ways. It often challenges my sanity, patience, and my endurance… The emotional meltdowns are usually caused by fatigue, tension from relationships, stress from work, simply too many things to handle or all of the above!

That was when i asked myself, ‘why the need to set such high expectation of myself as a mother?’. Why couldn’t i just let go?…

i had already seen a therapist, worked with a healer, picked up meditation, and studied Positive Psychology. I’ve learnt to ‘reparent’ myself in that time. Of cos, this process is a constant work in progress, but I cannot imagine how much more self-destructive i could have been otherwise.she shared in her post.

The event will run from 4:00-4:30 in the afternoon, Singapore Standard Time. It is free of charge. A registration process is required for those willing participants.

Join me then, let’s have a chat. I know I’m not alone,” she mentioned as she ended her post.
