Show Lo continues charity work despite negative comments

Taiwan ― Ever since Taiwanese singer and actor Show Lo’s former girlfriend accused him of cheating on her, things have been tough for Lo.

Back in 2020, Grace Chow posted a long confession on Weibo which detailed her discovery of the star’s private conversations with other women when she accidentally saw a message on his phone.

According to The Star, Lo responded to these allegations and did not deny it but wrote: “I will self-reflect on everything I’ve done wrong. There are many things that cannot be easily explained with just a few words, but I won’t explain myself.”

Following the scandal, the 42-year-old was dropped from many film and TV roles. Lo then started his own YouTube channel, Show TV and transitioned to making videos instead.

On Oct 9, Lo posted a new video that showed him participating in some charity work for children in Hualien City in Taiwan. The title of the video reads: “No matter what people say, I will still do what I must! If I don’t, I’ll get scolded, and if I do, I’m putting on a show?”

Lo understands how his charitable work can be viewed as fake by some people. At the start of the video, Lo explained that he wouldn’t be surprised if netizens said his charity work was an effort to redeem his “tarnished reputation”.

“Society is like this, if you don’t say anything, people will accuse you of doing nothing. But if you do talk about it, they’ll say you’re just doing it for show. No matter what the outside world says about me, I will continue to do it,” he said.

In the video, Lo spent the day doing arts and crafts with the children and making mooncakes with them.

Born July 30, 1979, Show Lo is a Taiwanese singer, actor and host. He is commonly known by his nickname Xiao Zhu (Little Pig). Lo is recognized for his trademark dance music and comedic talent. He has over 50 million followers on Chinese micro-blogging platform Weibo as of June 2018. /TISG
