Fizz Fairuz hospitalised after attempt to lose weight

Malaysia — Datuk Fizz Fairuz wanted to lose some weight before shooting began for his upcoming film. Unfortunately, this led to the actor going through gastric problems.

The actor’s wife Datin Almy Nadia confirmed that he had been admitted to the hospital on Sept 13 for treatment. Fizz was placed on drips by the doctor to relieve him from the pain.

The good thing is that he was discharged the same day. Almy shared with mStar, The Star’s Malay-language portal that her husband had previously weighed 84 kg and wanted to lose some weight before filming started.

“The doctor said he had gastric problems because he hadn’t eaten properly for almost two weeks,” she explained. “He had a lot of acid in his stomach.”

She also said that the Munafik actor had already been experiencing some stomach problems for the past two weeks. This had caused him to lose about 6 kg during that time. “Now God has granted him his intention to lose weight, but at the cost of illness.”

He began his early career as an actor in the horror genre, then embarked on a professional acting career with Two Hearts. His name became known after playing the role of Aidil in the drama series Nur Kasih co-starring Tiz Zaqyah.

In addition to acting roles on television, Fizz is also known for film roles including Anak Halal (2007), Syurga Cinta (2009), Jiwa Taiko, Hantu Kapcai (2012), Gila-Gila Remaja 2 (2013), Cicakman 3 (2015) and Munafik (2016).
