Because I Want To, Lee Dong Wook’s talk show made its highly anticipated premiere.
Lee Dong Wook made his debut as a talk show host and welcomed his first guest Gong Yoo on the December 4 episode.

After acting in the 2016 tvN drama Goblin, the two actors became close and their friendship continued even after the drama ended.
Gong Yoo said that Lee Dong Wook calls him Kke Bi (Korean word for goblin) while Gong Yoo calls him Dong Seung (a combination of Lee Dong Wook’s name and Korean word for grim reaper).
The actor then continued saying that Lee Dong Wook is someone who texts by saying the same thing twice. For example he says, ‘Whatcha doing? Whatcha doing?,’ ‘Where are you? Where are you?,’ and ‘I miss you.’
According to him, Lee Dong Wook also sends lots of heart emoticons. Lee Dong Wook said that he also sends a lot of messages with cute emoticons to Gong Yoo.
Gong Yoo said that he did not appear on these kinds of shows in the past because he did not have anything to talk about as he was not a fun person. He added that he does not feel pressure being questioned by someone who knows him well.
He could only appear on this type of show after a long time thanks to Lee Dong Wook.
Both of them then discussed each other’s acting. During the filming for Goblin, Lee Dong Wook revealed that Gong Yoo cried when the director said action. Lee Dong Wook was standing next to him and he became emotional. Gong Yoo then said he felt sad and asked Lee Dong Wook to stop talking about it.
He said he feels the emotions coming up again and they need to talk about things like that while drinking.
Jang Do Yeon, the sub MC asked Gong Yoo to pose according to article headlines. She startled the actor by saying “We’ll live a good life” before posing with the actor for the headline “heart attack eye contact”. Jang made everybody laugh by collapsing after looking into Gong Yoo’s eyes.
The most famous scene from Goblin was recreated where Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook walked out of the shadows to save Eun Tak (played by Kim Go Eun). Expressing his desire for a wide assortment of things to complete the scene, Gong Yoo made sound effect noises with his mouth.
Gong Yoo sat comfortably by slouching in his chair during the self-praise segment. Dong Wook said he doesn’t cross his legs in front of viewers to which Gong Yoo replied that he is a show host who makes his guests feel uncomfortable.
Gong Yoo offered two versions of his answer when asked why he thinks the public loves him.
Speaking humbly, the actor said he feels embarrassed whenever this question comes up because he approaches his projects with sincerity and he carefully makes such assumptions.
In his other version, Gong Yoo shared he has so many things to brag about that he has to think about it and it can’t all go on air. According to him, Lee Dong Wook is a bit impatient. He then said that he is handsome and people say that clothes look good thanks to him.
Gong Yoo stated that beer is doing well thanks to him with 10 bottles sold per second and the company has already achieved their goal for this year in the summer.
Lee Dong Wook laughed when Gong Yoo said to him that he can be like Gong Yoo if he works a little harder. Gong Yoo shared that he is the advertising model for a furniture company and the YouTube ad reached 10 million views. His films have 10 million moviegoers and his ads also get 10 million views.
The two actors then said that people don’t ask them if they have abs but how deep they are.
Lee Dong Wook’s birthday was celebrated in Jeju Island and the clip from that celebration was aired on the show. Lee Dong Wook said that it feels like the both of them are on a date and he didn’t know that two men would come here like this. The actor then suggested they hold hands. He was about to grab Gong Yoo’s hand but quickly moved it away.
The actors looked at the menu at a sea urchin bibimbap restaurant. Lee Dong Wook asked Gong Yoo if he wanted to drink and Gong Yoo drank rice wine alone because Lee Dong Wook had to drive. They enjoyed seafood and green onion pancakes.
Once the sea urchin bibimbap arrived, Gong Yoo took a photo of the food. He said he would probably only have pictures of food if he had an Instagram account. He shared that he is someone who lives for the joy of eating and it’s difficult to play a character who has to control his diet.
Gong Yoo left the room quickly with the excuse of looking for the bathroom before returning with a cake with the help of the restaurant owner. Lee Dong Wook caught Gong Yoo preparing the cake, botching the surprise which annoyed Gong Yoo.
However the birthday boy thanked his good friend for the cake. The actors scribbled on the wall to commemorate their visit and they caught up, asking what they have been up to since Goblin. /TISG
