Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chi-ling marries Akira

On Sunday, November 17, Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chi-ling got married to Japanese boy band member Akira in a ceremony held in the island nation’s southwestern city of Tainan.

It ends her single status which has been a subject of interest for fans and the media for years, according to reports.

Lin, who was born on 29 November 1974, is ‘Taiwan’s number one supermodel’ and is known for her tall, slim stature, charming looks and sweet voice.

The 44-year-old entered the movie industry in 2008 when she acted in the movie Red Cliff.

Following that, she has starred in numerous films such as Red Cliff part II, Say Yes and The Monkey King 3.

Lin also co-starred with Japanese actor Takuya Kimura on the Japanese TV drama Moon Lovers which was aired in 2010.

Besides that, she is also a philanthropist, doing charity work over the years.

In 2011, she started the Chiling Charity Foundation to aid children and young people realise their dreams.

The supermodel’s love life had been filled with rumours of puzzling relationships that didn’t go anywhere until she started dating Akira in 2018.

The singer who is seven years younger than his wife met Lin in 2011 when they worked together in a stage play.

On 6 June this year, the couple announced they will be married which was a surprise to her fans and the entertainment circle.

Lin wrote in her marriage announcement that some people said that love is a split-second gift and that she thinks it takes courage, tolerance, unselfishness, compromises and naivety to turn the split-second into a lifetime of company.

She also described Akira as enthusiastic, hard-working, pleasant and kind. Lin’s father, Lin Fan-nan complimented his son-in-law for his tall stature and having a modest manner and good personality.

To Akira, Lin Chi-ling is full of good things, saying during Sunday’s wedding that with the world’s population of several billion, being able to meet and marry her is due to fate.

His words caused Lin to shed tears.
