The war on Instagram between Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr

Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr. are at it again. Both of them recently used social media to start their fantasy football feud and the duo are set to face off against each other – for charity.

Downey started the whole thing when he uploaded a video of himself on his social media.

The Iron Man star decided to use a friendlier approach when talking to his fellow Marvel co-star in the video.

Downey spoke about his charity in the video then made cheeky comments about the Deadpool star.

54-year-old said in the video, “Robert Downey Jr. here, part of the AGBO Superhero Fantasy Football League. I’m playing for Sacred Hearts, which is a rehabilitation from substance issues. Crazy about that.”

He then added, “We’re playing Ryan Reynolds this week. And I’m not a smack talker. I’m not gonna say ‘Ryan eat my pigskin’ or any of that stuff. Honestly, I’m praying for ya (awkward laugh). I wish you the best of luck. We’ll see ya on the field my brother. We’re all in this together…”

Towards the Canadian, the Sherlock actor ended the video with a change of demeanour and hissed out the words, “Eat eat”. Reynolds who is very sporting also decided to reply with a video of his own.

A response video showing the Vancouver native silently eating cookies with the face of the Marvel icon printed on them was uploaded on social media.

The funny response prompted the upcoming Dolittle actor to comment on the Instagram post with the word, “#touche’”.

In September, Reynolds joined the competition. Other Marvel actors including Tom Holland, Karen Gillan, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Paul Rudd, Chris Evans, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth are part of different charity organisation.

Reynolds, 43 is representing Sick Kids Foundation.

He has this to say about the charity at the start of the event, “It’s for an incredible charity, the one I’m playing for is the Sick Kids Foundation of Canada. Just an amazing place. They do so much for kids across Canada, but not only that, they do so much for kids all across the world. Amazing people.”

Brothers and directors of Avengers:Endgame Joe and Anthony Russo are the organisers of charity event AGBO Superhero Fantasy Football League.

The ESPN website hosts the event with each team playing to raise awareness and money for charity. /TISG
