Jennifer Aniston is fastest user to hit one million followers on Instagram

Friends actress Jennifer Aniston recently joined Instagram and she broke the record to become the fastest user to reach one million followers in just five hours and 16 minutes.

The Hollywood star is one of the few celebrities who had not joined any social media platform.

When she first posted a photo on Tuesday morning, it was a selfie that she had taken with her Friends co-stars Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox.

The photo was captioned with a pun from the TV show saying, “and now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM.”

Aniston’s bio reads, ‘My friends call me Jen.’

The moment her account was made, it received a lot of traffic by her fans to the point that the service crashed – it is reported that it could be because hundreds and thousands of fans were rushing to follow her on Instagram.

Aniston is the third person to hit the record.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle started the Instagram account named @sussexroyal, it reached one million followers in five hours and 45 minutes.

The royal account was created so that fans could engage with the couple and learn more about their charity work and public endeavours.

Another person who broke the record is K-pop star Kang Daniel who reached 1 million followers in 11 hours and 36 minutes.

Aniston has accumulated over 13 million followers since she started her Instagram account.

Since finding out about breaking the record, Aniston uploaded a video clip from her upcoming series titled The Morning Show saying: “I swear I didn’t mean to break it… Thank you guys for the kind, glitchy welcome ❤️.”

Jennifer Aniston gained fame after acting in a hit TV series called Friends. She was also married to another Hollywood star Brad Pitt before the couple split up.

One of her latest movies is Murder Mystery where she stars with good friend Adam Sandler. /TISG
