Probe the abduction theory, urged the desperate family of a British teenager who went missing in Malaysia. The family is begging local police to take up the matter seriously and look into the possibility of an abduction.

The parents of Nora Quoirin, 15, have said they have no reason to think she wandered off on her own. Nora Quoirin, 15, was reported missing from a resort in Malaysia on Sunday and the family have appealed to the public for help in finding her.

Police say they have reports of people seeing a white woman walking by a river. They say that sniffer dogs have picked up the girl’s scent within 100 metres of the resort where she was staying, but that the trail stopped there.

Meanwhile, the police say they are looking into all angles and are not ruling out anything but they are investigating it as a missing person case.

Nora Anne Quoirin went missing from a resort near the Berembun Forest Reserve in Seremban in Negeri Sembilan.

State deputy police chief SAC Che Zakaria Othman told the media the case was not being treated lightly, as the federal police and other government agencies are involved in the search.

“We have not ruled out anything, and we are probing it as a case of a missing person, ” says SAC Che Zakaria.

The police are searching along the river banks believing this is where people in distress would go to find water sources.

News reports say the family believes the girl was taken from her room, as the window was ajar when she disappeared on Sunday. The window can only be opened from inside.

Nora Anne has learning difficulties and had checked into the property with her parents and two younger siblings early on Saturday.

But the following morning she was not found in her room which she shared with her siblings.

Police used a helicopter today (Wednesday 7) and sniffer dogs to expand their search for the schoolgirl.

A statement released by the family on Tuesday said: “Nora’s family believe she has been abducted.

“She looks younger, she is not capable of taking care of herself and she won’t understand what is going on. She never goes anywhere by herself,” said the statement.

“We have no reason to believe she wandered off and is lost;”

Her father Sebastien also wrote on Facebook: “Our daughter Nora has now been missing for 3 days in Seremban, 1h30 South of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, says The Sun in the UK.

“We believe she may have been abducted and we need your support to help us find Nora,” he wrote.

In Britain, the Metropolitan Police have been urged to launch their own investigation, as they did after the disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine McCann, who vanished from a resort in Portugal in 2007.

Around 170 people are taking part in the search for the Irish girl. -/TISG
