A global survey conducted by UK-based research firm YouGov has found that Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, his wife Ho Ching and President Halimah Yacob are among those most admired by Singaporeans.

The findings, that were released on Tuesday (23 July), found that the man Singaporeans admire the most is ex-US President Barack Obama and the woman Singaporeans admire the most is his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama.

PM Lee was ranked the eighth most admired man by Singaporeans while President Halimah was ranked the 11th most admired woman by Singaporeans. PM Lee’s wife Ho Ching, who serves as the CEO of Singapore sovereign wealth fund Temasek, was ranked the 15th most admired woman by Singaporeans.

The only other Singaporean in the Singapore list is Mandarin pop singer JJ Lin, who took the 10th spot among the most admired men by Singaporeans.

1,112 Singaporeans were among over 42,000 respondents in 41 countries that participated in the annual online survey by YouGov. Respondents are expected to nominate living public figures who they most admire. Check out the results of the survey in the Singapore region and across the world, here:
