Umno president’s daughter says her father should learn from ‘genius’ Mahathir

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s daughter says she hopes her dad learns a lot from Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad which is better than gaining knowledge aimed at becoming wealthy.

The Umno leader was on a retreat from running the affairs of the party after he was charged in court on multiple cases of corruption on Sunday says he will return to active politics.

Many welcome his comeback, but some says it will divide the Umno and will cause a migration of Umno Members of Parliament to Dr Mahathir’s party, the Bersatu.

Nevertheless, Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid, the daughter of the Umno president says her father need to learn a lot from Dr Mahathir. “You like it or not, Dr Mahathir is a genius.”

She says ex-Prime Minister Najib Razak is too good and a softie that allows others to trample on him pitilessly.

Nurul posted the message to her dad on Instagram stories.

It also says learning from Dr Mahathir is better than gaining knowledge aimed at acquiring wealth.

However, in a jab at Dr Mahathir, Nurul says, “Dad, please learn from Dr M! Learn from him who has a stiff heart (or dry heart). For the sake of Islam do not learn how to get wealthy because wealth and money cannot follow you to the grave.”

Critics of Dr Mahathir says he made his children wealthy.

She wants her dad to make Tun Mahathir an example in his choices.

Zahid Hamidi claimed trial to seven new charges of corruption involving S$4.24mil (about RM12.92mil) on June 26.

He is now facing the most corruption charges with a longer list than his ex-boss Najib who is facing up to 42 charges.

Accused of committing offences at the deputy prime minister’s official residence at Seri Satria, Presint 16, Putrajaya between March 28, 2017 and March 2, 2018, Zahid is facing 54 charges to which he pleaded not guilty.

The former deputy prime minister allegedly received S$300,000; S$300,000; S$1.04 million; S$1.04 million; S$520,000; S$520,000; S$520,000 from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd as a reward for him to extend the company’s contract as the operator of a one-stop centre (OSC) in China and Sistem Visa Luar Negara (VLN).
