Veteran opposition politician predicts the dawn of a police state in Singapore

Secretary-General of the People’s Power Party Goh Meng Seng commented on the state of affairs in the nation and has predicted the “Dawn of Complete Police State in Singapore”.

He first made comparisons with China’s facial recognition technology and its social credit system.

He wrote, “It is basically a full monitoring system installed by the state upon its citizens”.

Mr Goh explained that in China, one could be banned from having a passport or permit to travel overseas because of your bad social credit scores. Even for offenses such as jay-walking, one could have their details plastered across traffic lights, or issued a fine remotely.

Continuing, Mr Goh said that unbeknownst to Singaporeans, already installed is “a massive system of surveliance (sic) coupled with huge number of CCTVs and secret sophiscated (sic) handphone and social media monitoring system”.

“What makes the whole police state surveliance (sic) system complete would be the GPS ERP!” he wrote.

Mr Goh warned, “What this system can do is a massive control on how you drive and where you drive”.

“That’s how the system could be applied beside (sic) mere charging you ERP fees!” -/TISG
