Photo of Khaw Boon Wan lookalike on the train goes viral

Much to the amusement of many netizens, a photo of someone who looked like Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan sleeping on the MRT has gone viral.

The photo, which received 1,100 reactions and almost 400 comments in a few hours showed a man who resembled Khaw fast asleep in the ‘reserved seat’ on the MRT.

Captioned ‘Transport Minister too tired, must take a short nap in the train. Hard work to check on reliability, ok!’, the photo tickled many netizens who had a good laugh.

The resemblance was uncanny, but it turned out that the man in the photo was actually Henry Thia.

The latter is a former actor and comedian, who in 2004 played the recurring role of Georgie Gan in Police & Thief.

Thia has often joked that he and Khaw are twins.

Netizens however, were rather irate that Thia was not allowed to peacefully take a nap.
