Netizens come down hard on boy for poking fun at hunched over elderly man

A boy was chastised by netizens after he posted a video of a hunched-over elderly man with a rather rude caption.

The boy, whose social media handle goes by the name of ‘thisisnotmqr’ took a video of an old man who seemed to have spinal Scoliosis, or an abnormal curve of the spine. He also captioned the video with expletive “F*****g Camel”.

The video was shared on social media page ‘All Singapore Stuff’ earlier today and it received more than 200 reactions and comments.

While the video itself does not show the boy’s identity, standing around him are those who look to be secondary school students, and further probing shows a YouTube channel and Instagram account under the same username, which was where the video was first circulated.

Netizens were up in arms at the appalling behaviour of the boy and demanded that he take down the video, and learn some manners.

Upon further investigation, and following backlash from netizens, the boy posted an apology privately on his social media account.

He wrote, “That video I took calling that old man a ‘camel’ was a mistake. I’m very sorry for my actions. I didn’t thought (sic) of anything before posting that. it was very childish of me posting that because I found it funny as I thought that would be good content to my friends and followers”.

He also pleaded for people to stop contacting his parents and scolding them in order to reprimand him. -/TISG
