Singaporean who waited at home all day for parcel only to receive unsuccessful delivery notice blasts SingPost

Singapore Post (SingPost) has come under fire yet again, with yet another complaint over poor service by another disgruntled customer.

Criticising the postal service company, Facebook user Min Jia revealed that she was sent an unsuccessful delivery notice via SMS when she waited at home all day for her parcel. She added that was seated in her living room and no postman had come to her door prior to the “unsuccessful delivery”:

“I am disappointed. This was the second time within a month that my parcel delivery was deemed unsuccessful when i had been home the whole day. In fact, when I received the sms notification of unsuccessful delivery, I was right here sitting on my sofa waiting for the parcel. No, there was no delivery notice as stated and no one at my door.

“Remember the case of thrown-away letters and parcels within Ang Mo Kio Ave 4 and 5 in January? I live just one street down, at Ang Mo Kio Ave 2.”

More than the failed delivery, the netizen was left more upset over the standard response SingPost sent her when she contacted them about the matter. Sharing a screenshot of the response SingPost emailed her, she wrote:

“But what disappointed me more than the (un)attempted delivery, was the series of responses I got trying to give my feedback on the suspected service lapse. Twice, I shared the situation, twice, I received this response – “The delivery was unsuccessful, please collect your parcel.”

“Obviously, I know that the delivery was unsuccessful and I had to collect my parcel. You’re not responding to the concern of lapse and do not seem to be taking in the feedback. (Was this not the case for the previous AMK incident when residents had feedbacked on missing letters and parcels and only until someone caught it on tape that it was investigated?)”

Expressing frustration that she had to use social media to get SingPost’s attention, Min Jia said:

“I am also disappointed that I have to tag you here to bring this to your attention because I seem to have exhausted my feedback options.

More than addressing such cases as postman’s misdeeds and dismissal, I hope there is some real improvement in place – e.g. Are we having a shortage of postmen in AMK as it was in Yishun that resulted in the overworked postal service and lapse?

“I had ever spoken to a postman here informally that he had to work beyond his usual hours to deal with the influx of packages. And how are feedbacks taken more seriously than giving such templated replies?”
