A late-night brawl at a coffee shop at Hougang involved at least 15 men, resulting in one man getting sent to the hospital. A 17-second video clip of the fight, which took place at about 10:30 on Saturday night (Mar 26), was posted on social media.

Although the person who took the video was some distance away from the fray, over a dozen men can be seen pushing and chasing after each other, jumping on and yelling at each other as well. It also sounded like items being hurled to the floor, like glass breaking.

The video clip was posted on the Facebook page of Shin Min Daily News, where it’s been viewed over 77,000 times.

The caption says that the brawlers were suspected to have been drinking when the fight broke out.

Chairs and tables were flipped during the fight, and bottles were broken.

The fight occurred at 106 Food Alliance, Block 106, Hougang Avenue 1.

A 35-year-old man named Mr Zhang told Shin Min Daily News that he had been drinking tea with some friends at that time, when they suddenly heard shouts of “fight, fight, fight!”

When they went to check it out, to their surprise, around 15 middle-aged men were involved in the scuffle.

He said that the brawlers were shoving and shouting at each other and that the scene he came upon was chaotic.

A few of the men involved allegedly wielded iron bars, and some of them fighting were already bleeding when he saw them.

All in all, Mr Zhang added, the fight lasted around ten minutes.

He saw that one man had taken his shirt off to stop the bleeding of one of the men injured in the brawl.

A Shin Min journalist who went to the coffee shop at around midnight saw blood on the floor, as well as chairs and tables in disarray. There was also broken glass from alcohol bottles.

But those who were fighting had already left the scene by then.

The man who needed medical attention due to his injuries in the brawl was conscious when he was brought to the hospital, the police told Shin Min.
