A Singapore Pools lottery winner won a hefty $9,731,377 in the new year.

Singapore Pools is the only operator that is legally allowed to run lotteries in Singapore. Having been incorporated in 1968 to curb illegal gambling, Singapore Pools is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Tote Board, which is a statutory board under the Ministry of Finance.

A picture of the cheque won by the Singapore Pools lottery winner has been trending on social media, with over 450 reactions and more than 100 shares. The cheque shows that it was paid on 4 January 2019.
