A video of a Rolls Royce driver holding up traffic along Tiong Bahru is circulating online, garnering criticisms from netizens on his driving skills.

Facebook page ROADS.sg uploaded a video initially posted by wakeupsingapore TikTok handle on Thursday (Mar 24).

“Move your car. Look, there’s so many people waiting for you. There’s more than enough space. Are you an idiot?” said the man recording the incident.

Meanwhile, the Rolls Royce driver asked the man if he was sure of his claims.

The driver added that the man would have to pay if he ended up damaging the car.

A woman also joined the conversation and suggested the driver “just try and get a little closer” to assess the situation.

It appears that the Rolls Royce driver felt that the nearby parked BMW didn’t leave him with enough space to pass.

As the altercation ensued, at least two other vehicles behind the Rolls Royce waited to pass.

“Do you think the Rolls Royce can pass?” asked ROADS.sg.

“We sure think so, this driver is just too careful and afraid of scratching the RR. He was afraid and blocked all others behind him. What do you feel about this incident?” the page added.

Members from the online community agreed that the vehicle could pass with no problem. Many also questioned the driver’s skills following his behaviour.

“First, with such lousy driving skills, I would like to know how he managed to get his driving license. Lastly, my advice to him is not to drive such a big car if he can’t handle it,” said a netizen.

“Apparently, there is sufficient space for the Rolls Royce to drive pass,” a Facebook user confirmed.

“If the driver is not confident to drive such a big car, he should not be driving it, regardless whether he is the owner or the chauffeur.”

The netizen added that the driver could have asked for help from others to help him steer safely across.

“Those who have parked their cars along this road will know that large and low profile cars will have a problem moving fully inwards due to the peculiar design of the parking space.”

“I believe even a lorry can able to pass through the road,” another Facebook added in jest./TISG
