“Maybe the poor person was working 23 hours a day to make ends meet and collapsed from sheer exhaustion”: Grab rider seen falling on the road

In response to a video of a food delivery rider caught falling in the middle of the road being shared with an online group, netizens have expressed their support for the worker.

An online user on Friday (Sept 23) took shared a video of a food delivery rider falling off his bike in the middle of the road. “Hope (the) Grab rider is okay,” his caption read, “(He) took a while to get up.”

The 37-second clip caught the man stumbling as he rode through the bike lane. He was then seen trying to gain his bearings. However, he then fell to the ground, along with his bike.

Though it took a concerning amount of time for the worker to start getting up, before the video ended, he was seen to be slowly making his way back on his feet. Towards the end of the video, an onlooker was also seen running toward him to help.

Singaporeans who saw the video were quick to express their concern for the rider. “Maybe the poor person was working 23 hours a day to make ends meet and collapsed from sheer exhaustion,” said one, “Hope the person is okay.”

Another speculated that there were many items in his delivery bag, which could have been what caused him to fall and have a hard time getting back up. Many others expressed their empathy and well-wishes for the man.

One netizen even took time to applaud the woman seen running to his rescue.
