Workers’ Party chief and Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh is also an outspoken and unabashed fan of Manchester United Football Club.

He made his preference known as far back as a decade ago, despite the presence of many Liverpool fans in Eunos, the Aljunied GRC ward he represents.

Earlier this year, he posted over social media that “for the very first time in my life, I touched a “This is Anfield” sign outside a resident’s house.”

On Thursday (Sept 15), he found a fellow Man U supporter at one household, posting a photo with a resident who had hung an Old Trafford M16 sign on his gate.

“There are a rather large number of Liverpool fans in the Eunos ward of Aljunied GRC. I have seen my fair share of ‘This is Anfield’ signs, wrought-iron gates in the shape of the liverbird….you name it.

So it was nice to see Hamdan and family last night during house visits, playing their part to bring some balance to the Force!”

Old Trafford, of course, is the home of Manchester United. With a seating capacity of 74,310, it is the biggest club football stadium in the UK.

The WP chief’s post brought other Man U fans to the comments section.

Other commenters seemingly could not help poking some good-natured fun at the LO’s post, however.

The WP Chief has shown his love for The Red Devils on his social media over the years.

In 2012, Mr Singh admitted that at times, it can be “Tough being a Manchester United fan.”

However, in 2018, he shared a photo of whom he believed to be “Man Utd’s player of the season so far!” prompting a comment from his wife, theatre practitioner Loveleen Walia.
