Indonesian maid gets jailed for posting video of boss’ 4-year-old son changing pants, she also steals $50

A domestic helper from Indonesia received a three-month and one-week jail sentence on Tuesday (Jul 19) for having published a TikTok video where the genitals of her employer’s 4-year-old son can be seen as she changed his pants.

Rike Kusnul Kotimah, 25, also took $50 that belonged to her employer in the very first month that she worked for them.

She pleaded guilty to voyeurism and theft and received a jail sentence of three months for the first offence and an additional one week for the second.

A charge of distributing an intimate recording was taken into consideration for the helper’s sentencing.

Rike started working for her employer’s family on March 11, 2022.

TODAY Online reported that she had been instructed to inform her employer if she found money lying about or during the course of doing laundry, and to give them the money at once.

But Rike asked to be transferred shortly after she began working for the family, who approved the request on Apr 14.

However, before she was allowed to leave the household, her female employer checked her iPhone to see if the helper had taken photos of the family.

She saw one picture of a fifty-dollar bill in front of her husband’s pants.

When confronted, Rike said that she first returned the bill to the husband’s pants, but took it from their bedroom later on when she was home alone.

She proceeded to spend the money on herself.

After this, the woman filed a police report against Rike.

During the course of police investigations, it was found out that the helper made a video of herself changing the pants of her employer’s son, age 4.

She was changing his pants in the video.

However, the boy’s genitals can be seen in it.

Rike said that she took the video, so she could have something to remember the boy. 

However, the caption on the TikTok, which is in Bahasa Indonesian, reads, “Conditions for a domestic worker to be successful: Personal necessities borne by the employer, food… borne by employer, no day off, no Shopee, whatever things I can request from employer… go back to Indonesia with a bag full of money, not a bag full of dirty clothes!”

The helper could have spent as long as seven years in jail for stealing. As for voyeurism, anyone convicted may be jailed for as long as two years, fined, caned or a combination of the three. /TISG
