Singapore — Billionaire Bill Gates might very well be the first to be investigated under FICA – the unvaxxed in Singapore are vexed with Bill Gates’s comment that the unvaxxed should be “lashed” when asked about it at the Bloomberg forum held last week. Some Singaporeans, who submitted a police report over the remark, have organised an online petition.

The ‘Concerned Citizen’ also organized an online event last Friday evening (Nov 19) entitled “Dear Singapore Police, please investigate Bill Gates for potential FICA.”

The organisers quoted the following excerpt published in The Straits Times on Nov 18: “Responding to (Bloomberg editor-in-chief) Mr Micklethwait’s point that even in Singapore where the Government has done a good job in controlling the pandemic, there remain 60,000 people who refused to be vaccinated, Mr Gates quipped that resisters should be caned: ‘You would have thought they had a lash for these people.’”

While identified only as “Ikibook Limited” on the Eventbrite website, at the bottom of the page the group identifies itself via its website as Healing the Divide. A video of the event may be viewed on the landing page of the site.

The group, headed by Ms Iris Koh call themselves “intelligent vaxxers”.

However, earlier this month, the Ministry of Health called out the group for spreading COVID falsehoods and misleading information.

The group has also filed a lawsuit against Singapore Press Holdings, the mother company of The Straits Times due to “making false statements of fact” about Covid-19 in an Aug 7 commentary.

One descriptor on the Eventbrite page reads, “The other side of Bill Gates. He is currently in Singapore for the Bloomberg Economic Forum. Find out all his dirty little secrets.”

The organiser wrote that they have “submitted a police report and a CPIB report on Bill Gates for his potential influence on domestic politics as a foreigner.”

They claim that Mr Gates “owns vaccine patents and multiple biotech companies, eg. Moderna and Pfizer and has shares in these companies. He has everything to gain when people take his vaccines.”

TISG fact-checked these assertions and found that while it is true that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation owns stock in Pfizer, BioNTech and other pharmaceutical companies, it has done so from years before the Covid-19 pandemic began.

The foundation, a longtime proponent of fighting infectious disease in the global south, first acquired stock in Pfizer in 2002 with the intent to “expand access to the pharmaceutical company’s all-in-one injectable contraceptive, Sayana Press, giving women in the developing world an affordable option.”

However, the event organiser claims that Mr Gates “is influencing our politicians, our policies, and public opinion by commenting on our domestic affairs, how we should govern our country and our people.”

“Please investigate him on FICA and the ministers that he is influencing who are pushing these vaccines unto the public, with little regard for public health safety,” they added.

The group went on to mention the worldwide “lawsuits for safety breaches regarding the vaccine” and added that “lawyers and doctors and nurses are marching against these insane mandates everywhere.”

The organisers added that “various police reports made in the last few months regarding this issue” would be shared at the event, and wrote, “I believe that our country is under threat by foreign players right now. From Youtube to Big Pharma who are eyeing our people and our children.”

The event was also scheduled to include three screenings of “the award winning documentary Plandemic” and a “zoom event to update the public about the police reports that Singaporeans have made on Bill Gates, Pfizer and MOH etc etc.”

Lawyer Ravi MRavi is representing the group in their lawsuit against SPH. He is also mentioned on the Eventbrite page.

“With the kind assistance of lawyer MRavi , a Constitutional Challenge was filed in the Supreme Court of Singapore on the evening of 16th November against Covid 19 measures that are in violation of Article 9 (1) of the Singapore Constitution, Chapter 14 of ASEAN Charter on Human Rights which Singapore is signatory and taking a lead, Universal Declaration of Human Rights which prohibit Genocide or Crime Against Humanity under Singapore’s Geneva Convention Act 1957.” /TISG
