The first person to beat the long lines that ended up snaking outside Apple’s flagship store and snag an iPhone 11 in Singapore was not a Singaporean, according to Michael Josh – the founder of noted technology blof, GadgetMatch.

Singapore was one of the first countries in the world to get the new iPhone 11 and iPhone lovers gathered outside the Apple Store today (20 Sept), in anticipation for the release of the latest iPhone models.

Michael joined the crowd this morning and captured photos showing how packed the entrance to the store was and how Apple had installed extra security in preparation for the release:

The doors opened shortly thereafter and the first person to purchase the iPhone 11 in Singapore was a 17-year-old Malaysian.

The teenager, who had flown in to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur, bought the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro and won an Apple Watch for being one of the first few customers to snag the newest mobile device models.

Netizens commenting on Michael’s Twitter feed online pointed out that the teenager must be a hardcore Apple fan since the new iPhone 11 is set to be released in Malaysia just one week after Singapore, instead of the longer waiting times of over one month between regional releases. /TISG
