Wealth-X said that finance remains the dominant industry for the billionaires and that they are most likely to be located in large financial centers. According to a survey by London-based research firm Z/Yen Group released in April, Singapore is the world’s No 3 financial centre.

The rise in the concentration of wealth in recent years makes having a presence in large financial centres almost a prerequisite for billionaires said Wealth-X.

According to Forbes Singapore’s 50 Richest list released in Aug 2016, there are 29 billionaires in Singapore. The Forbes report also said that the top 50 richest people in Singapore have a combined estimated net-worth of more than USD 80 Billion.
