A reader notified this publication that about a WiFi Free Spot notification in Sengkang Community Club. The notification said: “Users of this free service have to abide by the laws and regulations of Singapore and any infringement shall be reported to the Police. Please note that your connection may be monitored for security reason.
The reader asked if it is right for the community club to monitor residents’ connection in this manner just because they use the club’s WiFi.
He said: “At this CC, there are always foreign workers (mostly PRCs) who gather there to use the free WiFi. I’m not sure if they can understand the notice which is in English.”
