Netizen is shocked to realise that lady shopping at roadside stalls is Singapore President

Facebook user Nazerrul Hazan was shocked to realise that a lady shopping for RM$10 (about S$3) tudungs in Malaysia is the President of Singapore, Halimah Yacob.

Hazan, a Malaysian, wrote online that many did not recognise President Halimah and noted that she appeared humble.

He wrote in Malay:

“Jalan jalan di ibukota hari ni, nampak “puan” ni pilih tudung. Nak tegur tapi speechless tak tahu nak cakap apa.
“Puan ni mungkin orang besar, tapi sangat bersahaja. Butik First Lady depan dia pun dia tak masuk, belek tudung RM10 tepi jalan je. Keluar jalan simple berlenggang je. Kalau ajak lepak minum kopi pun entah entah dia nak.
Kebanyakkan orang kat sana tak tegur sebab tak kenal.
“Rasa rasa korang kenal tak sape puan ni?”
