‘3 years and look how people still miss you’ — fans remember Aloysius Pang on his death anniversary

Singapore — It’s been three years since actor Aloysius Pang died in an accident during a military training exercise, but he has been far from forgotten.

Mr Pang died after participating in a live-firing exercise at Waiouru Training Area in New Zealand.

He entered the cabin of a Singapore Self-Propelled Howitzer to check on its gun mechanism on Jan 19, 2019. When the barrel of the gun was lowered, it hit Mr Pang in the chest and abdomen, causing him serious injuries.

Nagaenthran’s case: Appeal against death sentence adjourned, calls to spare his life continue

Singapore — An appeal from Nagaenthran K. Dharmalingam, a convicted Malaysian drug trafficker facing execution in Singapore, was adjourned on Monday (Jan 25).

Ms Violet Netto, Nagaenthran’s new lawyer, applied for the adjournment, The Straits Times reported.

Nagaenthran, 33, filed an appeal against a decision from the High Court that refused him permission to begin judicial review proceedings to challenge his execution. At the same time, he also asked that the court exercise its power for a psychiatric assessment on him to be carried out.

Shock & disappointment for loyal customer who finds cockroach in porridge, decides to support different outlet

Singapore — After finding a “fresh-looking” cockroach on his order of porridge from a Tampines outlet, a loyal customer decided to patronise a different branch instead.

“I have been buying from Tampines branch every weekend,” wrote Complaint Singapore Facebook page member Kieron Goh, referring to his order of porridge from Sin Heng Kee in Tampines Block 477 Street 43.

Singapore — There’s no doubt that Workers’ Party Member of Parliament Jamus Lim is a food lover, and he’s also someone who proudly features some of the best food Singapore has to offer.

On Monday (Jan 24), Prof Lim highlighted the meepok tah (fishball noodles) from 266 Coffeeshop, writing in a Facebook post that it’s where he gets his “weekly fix” of the dish when they have Town Council meetings.
